These are excerpts from a news story by NBC channel 15 in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. What struck me is the vast difference in which they have handled the aftermath of Katrina…in a positive, upbeat manner…versus how Mayor B*ttwipe of N’awlins and their useless governor have approached it. They have taken positive steps to rebuild and get on with their lives while the other stands with hands out whining.
BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - When the national press returned on the first anniversary of the day Hurricane Katrina forever changed life from Mobile to New Orleans, they found a much different Mississippi than the one they left.
"We got handed a big lemon during Katrina, and I think the Coast is making really good lemonade out of it," said Steve Richer of Mississippi Beyond Katrina.
"I'm not in any way, shape or form trying to say things are normal," Richer said. "But we are trying to get the word out that we are moving in the right direction and that people are buying into our future with their pocketbooks."
