Once More Republicans Late on the Uptake

Yet again, the Republicans have allowed the Democrats the first move in putting out their lies concerning N. Korea's nuclear test.  When they should have immediately pointed out that this is a result of Bill Clinton being preempted by Jimmy Carter's foreign policy.  Slick Willie very obligingly gave N. Korea a $ 4.6 billion bribe not to pursue nuclear weapons and then proclaimed that this action would prevent any more nuclear proliferation on the Korean peninsula.  We now know that Kim Il Jong used this money to procure nuclear reactors.  Now Democrats have preempted the issue with their accusations against President Bush and of course the main stream jackals are going to push it to the brink.  Republicans now have to weather another barrage of Democratic lies  because they  did  act quickly enough. WASHINGTON - The shock waves of the North Korean nuclear weapons test rumbled through the 2006 campaign Monday, with Democrats quickly seizing the chance to argue that President Bush and the Republicans had neglected the North Korean threat.

Most Democrats were not highly specific Monday about what they would do about Korea if they were in charge: Feingold called for the president to take “strong action with the international community to address this threat to our national security” — but she did not define what “strong action” she might have in mind
