Fox launches new Christian home-video unit
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Twentieth Century Fox launched a Christian home-video label on Tuesday, becoming the first major studio with a unit devoted to the church-going audience that turned "The Passion of the Christ" into a blockbuster.
Many of the films are direct-to-video adaptations of Christian books that have sold tens of millions of copies.
The first one planned for theatrical release under the new Fox label is "Love's Abiding Joy," based on the fourth installment of "The Love Comes Softly" series from best-selling Christian novelist Janette Oke .It is due to open October 6 in 250 theaters around the country.
