During this run-up to the very important November elections we have three Republican senators, McCain R-AZ, Warner R-VA and Graham R-SC along with Colin Powell creating a rift in the GOP ranks over what I consider a non-issue, the treatment of terrorist prisoners and the Geneva Convention. Terrorists are fanatical killers and should be granted no POW status but instead be treated as the criminals they are. Their other objections, if implemented, removes one of the most effective methods of dealing with these fanaticals and preventing future attacks on the U.S. and granting rights to them that would ham-string our efforts in acquiring vital information from them.
An old comic strip called Pogo had a classical line that is appropo to them. "We has identified the enemy...and he is us!"
